The Carleton College Recreation Center was built in 1999 as a way to provide a recreational space for non-varsity athletes. The recreation center contains a fitness center, rock-climbing room, 3 squash/racquetball courts and a larger rock-climbing wall on the first floor and 4 fields as well as an indoor track on the second floor. Today the Recreation Center is used by club sports, intramural sports and varsity athletics as well as individual use by students.
